EQ2 Plat Buying Guide News 
New Statistics 
 
If you like statistics check out the stats page. I've reworked it a little bit, but I haven't updated the FAQ yet. The new features are a count of the auctions listed, which is no big deal, and the much more interesting transactions field. I'll go over how I estimate the transactions in the FAQ when I update it. It should be noted that the graph is still based on the 2 PM EST snapshot, but all of the table data is 'live'.

LiveGamer Newsletter
 
I recently became aware that Livegamer has a newsletter and I figure it might be worth a read for everyone interested in what they have going on. I'll try and see if I can get some sort of an automatic posting to the news here when they have a new newsletter. I hate to have to update things manually (like this news post). :) I make some really strange spelling mistakes too.

Faster EQ2 Plat updates
 
The auction listings will now update every 10 minutes instead of every 15. You should also barely notice when the updates are in progress as I do all the work first before changing any of the data that is displayed.

Plat Trader Queries are Down
 
There are two hosts that make up plat trader. The webserver giving you this page and a linux host that was doing the querying and then pushing those results to the database on the webserver. The linux host is currently dead and the plat trader is no longer going to update. If I can get it fixed then updates will start again, if not, well that is probably it on the stats for a while. At least LG has some similar functionality now.

Live Gamer gains a new feature
 
Live Gamer is now displaying the equivalent of my buy now ratio prominently on their website. I don't know what the overall effect of this will be on the game market, but it does directly devalue this site a bit. If it turns out that people slowly disappear from the site I will basically shelf the project and leave it running until it breaks, even after it breaks as long as it still gets some adsense revenue. I think right now the forum is the only thing LG lacks in relation to this site so I'm sure plans are in process to add that as well.
