EverQuest2 players’ account will lose sometimes, it happens with account theft and share account. Actually, account theft isn’t isolated only to those who choose to trade or share their Station accounts (which is ignoring the EULA!). As the Internet and online gaming population grow, so does the cesspool of scammers.

Account security is the responsibility of the account owner. This includes password protection, running virus checks, disabling file sharing, or any other means of checking that the owner's account has not been stolen or compromised.

We suggest EQ2 players that not do these things we list below because your account might be stolen.

Don’t Share Your Account Information that is NEVER a Good Idea
Would you hand a stranger your car keys and let them drive off in your car? You shouldn’t give them access to your account either.  Gamers have heard the advice before, yet a lot of people still opt to share their account information with close friends. It may seem harmless to have a guild mate complete a quest for you or attend a raid when you can’t be there, but bad things can happen. While it doesn’t always end in catastrophe, maybe you’ll simply log back in with a new last name, or you could attempt to log in to find your account banned due to mischief caused by someone who was “helping” you.

Pay Attention those SOE Employees Will NEVER Ask for Your Password
Not in email… not in-game… not on the phone… never! We have plenty of ways to access your account; the only thing we require from you is patience and a Station name. If you suspect that someone is impersonating a CSR in-game, use the /report feature and again, do not divulge your account password.
